I am not sure.  Could this be a permissions problem?  Check the permissions on each directory of the paths in question and see if anything pops out at you!

Can you be more specific?  Are you getting an error message with larger torrents/files?  If so what is that error message? ARe you maybe out of HD space?  Or is the directory that you are downloading...

Are you sure the VPN is 8 Mbit/sec not 8 MByte/sec (or Mbps not MBps)  Big difference! As far as the load balancing part of your post . . . I have no idea but I know it is not trivial.

No problem!  It is a very common mistake! The ISP's always report speed in bit/sec and most applications report speeds in Byte/sec so it really is very easy to not realize that or forget the differen...

Well you need a functioning java install to use Vuze.  You also have to have the right version of vuze and java.  They must be both 32 bit or 64 bit.  If they are mixed Vuze will not work.

I am not familiar with individual VPN's but I know some network providers have rules as to how you can use the VPN.  Like some might not let you use the VPN to access public torrent sites or something...
