HELP! Extratorrent closed down! Need new search templates! |

Extratorrent is GONE! All my subscriptions were based on that site.. Native Vuze search templates are far from comprehensive. Can SOMEONE create templates for Rarbg or eztv, etc. please and make them available to the community?. I have no experience writing HTML and Vuze meta search is worthless without functioning search templates. Vuze Wiki on Meta search is not comprehensive in its explanations for a newbie to HTML.

Subscriptions not respecting Filters |

I noticed the subscriptions not following the filter restrictions I've put in place. They appear to be saved, but when I minimize Vuze to the system tray and then come back later, the filters seem to have no effect again. I'm using version 5.7.5.1_B10
EDIT: ok, so maybe I did something wrong or it was just a glitch on my end somehow because I don't seem to have the problem now.

[RFE] Detect (and sanitize) files that are too long |

Hi,
For not well understood reasons, some of my completed torrents now contain valid files to which (invalid) data has been appended. At some point Vuze has singled out some of the cases, showing an error about the file size being too large but doing little else; in the rest of the cases, forcing a re-check on torrents with corrupt files has not caused the problem to be detected by Vuze.
First of all, it would be nice if forcing a re-check on a torrent detected such cases. Perhaps there is a reason why it cannot or should not be done; if not so, it would be great if such corrupt files could be singled out.
Second, it would be nice to be able to deal with larger than expected files from within Vuze when they are encountered. I know of no other solution than to delete and then redownload the problematic file. However, in cases where simply truncating the file would fix the problem it seems a little wasteful. I can imagine that there might be UI or coding challenges, or that perhaps a more general and exhaustive integrity check and correction solution is more desirable (and perhaps even planned); but if it were possible to offer truncation to the expected file size as a dumb but simple fix it would be welcome.
Cheers.

It seems that all of our torrents except vuze and E are not pulling up any searches, they are still there just not working. Also when we try to download something from the vuze it won't download just gives a red sad face and says there's no peers even though it says there are. Does anyone have any suggestions?????????

SLOW uploads on LAN |

So before anyone tells me, just use SMB on a LAN to transfer files, let me explain my usage case as it isnt normal. Myself and a Cohort, host LAN parties from time to time, but one problem seems to follow us around, and that is a lack of internet bandwidth for the number of attendies. It seems that every LAN we host, People are either downloading or updating games and it hogs all of the bandwidth needed for some online only games. A solution we discovered was to have all of the needed games and programs on premisis. However passing around thumbdrives and external HDDs is impractical with 80+ people, not to mention they tend to get damaged or destroyed. Sharing the content from a computer works, when it's only 1 or two people, but it will completely saturate the HDD usage and bandwidth for that machine, we could host the content on several machines, but then we have to figure out a way to balance who is pulling from what machine... any way i think you understand by now that torrenting the content locally is our best method.
Here is our problem though. individual torrents, are WAY to slow for the connections and HDD speeds we have. We are running a Vuze tracker on a server with Dual CPUs, a 10Gb fiber card, connected to a 1Gb network with 10Gb backbone, on Raid 0 SSDs, the connection speeds should be FLYING! However when pulling an individual torrent from the server we only get 2-4MB/s uploads starting and maybe up to 15MB/s once i have other systems seeding, which seems odd. Now if we pull several torrents at once we can get upto 123MB/s on a 1Gb connection. So why are my individual torrents So SLOW?
NOTE: Seems like my tracker server seeds slower than my seed boxes. Old core 2 systems running vuze with 500GB 7200rpm platters, they seem to max out their hard drives, unless there are multiple seeds, then it balances with the other seed boxes until the system downloading has maxed out its HDD speeds.

search results no longer deliver |

Like many people I have been using Vuze for years. A few days ago the search results stopped delivering their normal results. A series I have been downloading one or two at the time, now doesnt even appear in the search results anymore at all. I have tried even really old stuff, but Vuze is now totally useless. I never changed any settings. I have uninstalled and done a new installation, but nothing works. Been reading some threads with similar problems and cannot make any sense of any of the solutions offered. Can anyone help?

RSS Lists (Not exactly a Vuze question) |

Hi Folks,
I notice in Vuze that certain torrents do have RSS information contained with them. This information also includes a ranking status concerning the feed itself. Is there a website or URL that provides a list of RSS feeds, using that ranking system or any ranking system for that matter?
I can't seem to locate one.
Thank you in advance for any replies.
