RSS Feed Console Setup |

I was able to set up my local RSS feed by using the information provided here. Now I am trying to do the whole process again but strictly using the Console interface for Vuze. I'm guessing that the configuration lies somewhere in the results of running 'set' in the console, but that is as far as I know. I also need to know how to access plugins for use while in the console. Any advice is appreciated.

I was wondering if Vuze has any functionalities to make it more automated. I am looking to start an automatic sync between different machines running vuze. I would like for the machines to connect to each other and look to see if they have any new torrent files. If they find that they have a new torrent file I would want them to automatically recognize that they don't have it and download it. It would be something similar to Bittorrent Sync or Rsync but I want to only use Vuze. The three main things that I am looking for are...
1. New torrent file recognition
2. Automatic download of new torrent file
I would like to use only Vuze if possible. I know of other alternatives such as Btsync or Rsync but am not interested in using them. If any file transfer protocols are capable of doing this such as FTP, SFTP etc. I would also be interested in learning how to set that up. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi All
Been using vuse for a few years no issues. Vuse decided it wanted to upgrade and now its come to a grinding halt (5.4.0.0).
I saw a post that said to modify the VMOptions in the info.plist file which i did. I assume i did it right as below. instructions were a little vague for a beginner like me.
from <string>-Xmx256m -XstartOnFirstThread</string><!-- I4J_INSERT_VMOPTIONS -->
to <string>-Xmx512m -XstartOnFirstThread</string><!-- I4J_INSERT_VMOPTIONS -->
I am assuming this is right??
Anyhow it made no difference. before I could download rediculously fast now Vuse just freezes or hangs.
Any thoughts?
Much appreciated, Mark.

Settings for one download or one seed only |

I'm having troubles figuring out the best way of getting Vuze to behave as I want. Can anyone suggest the best settings for Vuze to behave like this:
- When there are queued downloads (unfinished torrents), only one of these should be active. As it finishes, the next queued one is made active and so on. All completed torrents (seeds) should be paused.
- When there are no more queued downloads, only one of the completed torrents is seeded at a time. The one to seed should be the one with the highest ratio. It should seed until it reaches a share ratio of 1.0 and then stop (or go back to being queued) and then the next highest seed will start.
I am after this behaviour because I want my downloads to take precedence to any seeding, but when the downloads are finished I want to forget about seeding and just have all the completed torrents seed until they get to a ratio of 1.0. When they get to 1.0 I can remove them from Vuze and transfer the files onto external storage, so it's best for the ones that are closest to 1.0 to be seeded first, since they will finish soonest and I can free up disk space soonest.
Is there any particular combination of settings to achieve this? I have experimented quite a bit but I can't get it quite right - either I get multiple completed torrents seeding at the same time (making it take longer for either of them to reach 1.0) or the seeds take priority and my downloads get queued.
It's a bit difficult to experiment with different settings too because the JVM crashes about 25% of the time I change a setting or move between pages on the options tab, so it's a very laborious process to adjust settings. (I have looked through the crash logs and it looks like a crash in the native code that interfaces with GTK or similar when controls are updated, so I don't think there's anything that the Vuze folks can do about that.)

I have been interested for some time in utlizing the remote functionality of the Vuze client but am unable to get it to work. I abandoned the idea for about a year I think and recently have come back to it. The problems that I seem to be encountering are below but first my system info:
Java 1.6.0_65
Apple Inc.
SWT v4322, cocoa
Mac OS X v10.6.8, x86_64
V5.4.0.0/4 az2
Problems:
1) When I enable pairing I get an access code but under status I see: No remote services enabled
2) If I try and pair the android app anyway I get the error: No bindings available
3) System restart, vuze restart, generate new code have no effect.
4) If I test my network status for "Vuze services" I get the following:
Default public address is 109.201.154.199
1 bind addresses
10.xxx.1.xxx
1 public/external addresses found
109.xxx.154.xxx
AS details: as=43350,asn=NFORCE NFOrce Entertainment BV,NL, bgp_prefx=109.xxx.128.xxx/19[/109.xxx.128.xxx-/109.xxx.159.xxx]

Test complete
Anyway that's about all the information that I've got so far. Oh I suppose I should say that I'm currently on a VPN but the behavior was exactly the same the last time that I attempted and that was before I had a VPN.
Thanks
Nathan

New torrent error : "Invalid file!" |

First - the usual apologies if this has been covered and I'm just being thick.
Today I started getting an error when trying to make a new torrent. After selecting the file/folder and clicking Next, it returns Invalid file! I've been making torrents with Vuze for 3+ years, no problems, and last did it successfully on 8/18. I'm not selecting any of the check boxes (Multi-tracker, HTTP seeds, hashes for other networks) and would not normally do that.
I have tried:
- using many sorts of files (txt, rar, jpg) as well as folders containing the same sort of files from various locations on the computer
- both drag-and-drop and click through directories to find files to torrent
- changing the default directory for .torrent files
- resetting Vuze to default config & restarting
- rebooting the computer
- different trackers (don't know why that would matter but . . .)
and can't think of anything else to do. There are no problems with existing torrents.
Thanks, any ideas will be much appreciated.
