Posted by: albert2 - 09-09-2014, 06:40 AM - Forum: Community Open Support - Replies (2)

Hello,

I run Vuze on Mac OS X 9.x asa user without Admin rights. The admin user installed Vuze in the /Applications folder for me.

When i run Vuze, it starts complain it needs admin rights to update. I can click this warning away.

When i try to download something it complains the folders do not exists. Even if i create the folders & then retry, it seems like nothing starts to download.

Installing the plugins locally in my user folder also fails.

I have to stay a non admin user for security reaso,ns, how can i get Vuze to function ?

Exclamation Leaving Vuze running hangs machine
Posted by: Davesim - 09-09-2014, 12:26 AM - Forum: Community Open Support - Replies (6)

I've been using Vuze for about 10 years & am a BIG fan, I generally leave Vuze running 24/7 but recently I've recently found in the morning my machine is frozen with very limited access to open applications. I can't open most programs (Outlook, Internet Explorer, etc) & when I try to restart the machine it hangs at logging off stage - leaving me to literally pull the plug.
My machine doesn't have any viruses (I think) but if I leave Malwarebytes Anti-Malware running at the same time I don't have the problem occur & if I don't leave Vuze running, once again no problem.

Is there a security breach in Vuze with the latest update? I tried changing the port but that also didn't make any difference.

I'm running:
Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, 8 gig ram i7 CPU
Norton Internet Security
Vuze 5.4.0.0
Java 1.6.0_43

Anyone have any ideas?

  ScaneRSS downloading to wrong directory
Posted by: bshegg - 09-08-2014, 08:16 PM - Forum: Community Open Support - No Replies

I have filters set to download to specific directories but it only works intermittently.  Frequently it will trigger downloads but download them to the wrong/other directories where I have other files set to download or directories where I have recently downloaded other files to.

Anyone else have this problem?  Any ideas on how to fix it?

I'm running vuze 5.4.0.0 on Windows 8.1

Star Copyright infringement?
Posted by: eternalstorm - 09-08-2014, 04:17 PM - Forum: Community Open Support - Replies (9)

I've been downloading with Vuze for years.  We recently moved and had to switch ISP.  We never had issues with our previous ISP with our downloads.  With the new ISP, I've just received my second notice of copyright infringement. I'm confused.  Vuze complies with copyright law, so why is my ISP citing me and what can I do about it?  The ISP is PenTeleData via Blue Ridge internet.

Vuze for Mac with build-in Java
Posted by: albert2 - 09-08-2014, 03:28 AM - Forum: Community Open Support - Replies (2)

As Apple discourages Users from installing Java on their computers, Apple doesn't provide Java (6) themselve anymore, Installing of Java (7-8) from Oracle is discouraged, I have the following Request.
It seems possible to create Apps with Java build in (Examples are Cyberduck, Frostwire) i would like to see this feature added to Vuze.
Having both Java excluded & Java included versions to download would be good so both the users who want this and those who still install Java would be served.

Seems this already is included in the Vuze Java 7 Install.
How does this work, Does the installer use Java 7 on System if Available & otheerwise installs Java 7 within the Vuze Application ?
How does the installer run if there's no Java, I think the installer itself is also a Java Application ?

Video Amazon Fire TV
Posted by: aglaeca2 - 09-07-2014, 09:48 PM - Forum: Community Open Support - No Replies

Has anyone used the Amazon Fire TV? It appears, based on reviews, that transcodes through Vuze can be used but it's not entirely clear.

  Error when updating
Posted by: WellFedEd - 09-04-2014, 08:51 PM - Forum: Community Open Support - Replies (1)

I have 5.3.0.0 and was told that 5.4 was available but when trying to install I receive this error:   /Applications/Vuze.app/Contents/Info.plist  Could not create this file. Shall we try again?

Any help would be appreciated.

Newbie - Basic File Sharing Question
Posted by: Pintman - 09-04-2014, 11:57 AM - Forum: Community Open Support - Replies (2)

I am new to file sharing, and I have a very simple question, although my terminology may not be correct:

If I do a default install of Vuze, is "file sharing" (seeding?) turned on by default?  In other words, assuming a default install (the software makes all the choices, I make none), will files I have downloaded automatically be available to other users, and do I have to do something to prevent this?

If the default is no file sharing - my downloaded files will not be available to other users - what do I have to do to enable file sharing? I'm sorry, but the online resources just aren't real clear to me.

Was this any different on Vuze 5.1.0.0?

  zip files...Aaaarggh.....
Posted by: pannika - 09-04-2014, 11:44 AM - Forum: Community Open Support - Replies (6)

Please if anyone can help me, I would be very grateful. I am not the most computer literate person on the planet and this question is probably so daft to be unbelievable, but still in spite of that there may be someone out there who can remedy my problem.

Why is it that when ever I now download almost anything in Vuze, then go to retrieve it and open it, I am confronted with a long list of zip files that seemingly will do nothing when I try to open them. This never used to happen, but now happens all of the time. Now there seems to be little point in downloading anything in Vuze as everything is in this zip file format which I can never open or do anything with.

Usually when I click on any of these files they will turn into a blue file, which then if I click on those will turn into yet another file, but none of these will open into the actual apps etc that I am trying to get my hands on. Also sometimes I will get a window pop up stating "There is no application set to open this document" below which is an option "Choose app" or "Search app store"  none of which is of any help to me at all. Is there a secret as to how to open these files that I know nothing about?

Like I said, I am by no means the most computer literate person around.

Any help and advice will be very welcome.

Many thanks indeed.

Vuze seems to have stopped for me completely. The program doesn't open when I run it and it also
doesn't seem to uninstall when I try to reinstall it.

If I try to uninstall it from the control panel, nothing happens. No window popping up or anything.

When I try to run it, the same thing happens. Nothing comes up and it doesn't show up on my taks manager.

Is there a fix for this?
