I have been download fine with vuse 4.4 for mac osx 10 then I
a week ago had trouble downloading.

any thing I missing it has update a few times but i did have any
trouble before the update
 

First thing to try is to update to Vuze 5.3 - see http://www.vuze.com/ for installers

I get a java error and a crash and log file

no clue
