I am trying to upload a torrent.  Understand, this is nothing new to me, I've been doing this for several years now.

My default setting to upload & download torrents is currently my F-Drive - an external hard drive.

However, whenever I try to do this, it changes it to an E-Drive - a former external hard drive which is NOT plugged in, NOT currently active and was NOT my default drive.  No matter what I do to try and change this, it reverts back.

Anyone have any suggestions?  I tried uninstalling Vuze and upped the newest version, but it is still doing it.  It does work fine for downloads, just not the other way around.

So you have the existing files and you're adding the torrent back into Vuze in order to seed it - using the 'for seeding' mode in the torrent options dialog?

If so it might be something to do with the 'best guess' option under Tools->Options->Files (top section). You could try fiddling with those options to disable renaming/guessing.

Nope - thanks for the advice, I tried that and it didn't work.

Yes - I have the file I've uploaded from ... wherever.  I then try to make a torrent.  I open "Announce URL" and cut / paste the address into that space.

My next move is to add either the Folder or File under Torrent Structure / Original File.  That it will let me do.  BUT when I move to the next step "Make a Torrent" I get a message saying "Invalid File" and it has somehow switched the torrent to an E drive torrent, which does not exist.

I am having my hard drive replaced in a few days, I wonder if that will solve the problem, as I will have to re-up Vuze.  I tried uninstalling / reinstalling the latest version but the problem persists.

Thanks for the advice.

That error message is relating to the location that the .torrent file is to be written, you can replace the file name location in the text box (i.e. the

e:\whatever\blah\fred.torrent

with somewhere else by hand

f:\thing\derp.torrent

and things should work?

The location it is selecting by default is stored in

azureus.config

under key

CreateTorrent.default.save

but it you edit that file in a text editor things will get borked as it contains non-text chars :(
