Full Version: Vuze won't move beyond "allocating"

Hello everybody,
I have been using Vuze for a long time and have just reinstalled after a reformat.  I am using an old version (5.6.2.0).  For some reason now when I load a torrent it gets stuck in "allocating" the torrent and no matter what I do I can't get it to download.  It will see seeds/peers etc but won't start.  I'm buggered if I know what is going on.

I use Torguard and have Vuze bound to this, but it has never been an issue in the past.

Is there some to disable this "allocation" step, or something that I am missing.  I have reset Vuze and re-entered settings etc, all to no avail.

Any help or guidance is very much appreciated.

Thanks
I do not think you can disable the allocation stage.

If your client is getting stuck on allocating . . . I suspect a permissions error on the drive/folder you are saving too and/or not enough space on the drive/folder you are saving too.  There are probably other causes . . . but that is where I would look first.  Make sure you check the whole drive/folder hierarchy not just the single drive/folder you are saving to.
Thank you for your reply.

There are no permission restrictions on the drive that I am using.  Brand new 4TB drive with acres of room.  Damn nuisance.  Time to move on from Vuze I'd say.
Well the allocating phase . . . all it is doing is creating the files/folders . . . so something must be preventing that.  If you are sure it is not permissions and or space . . . I do not know what to tell you.

Maybe one of the Vuze programmers or whatever will be able to help???
