Full Version: How to disable notifications (or at least the sound)?

Dear all,

Ever since I've updated Vuze as agressively requested (those updates pop-up every time you launch the soft until you snap and finally download them) a week or 2 ago, I get a LOUD "beep" every time there's a new notification in the ledt bar. I never needed, wanted or even read those notifications in all these years using Vuze but they didn't disturb me either. Now I get this loud sound which is annoying as hell since there are enough unwanted things beeping and popping-up as it is in my internet life.

I believe forcing such things on users is counterproductive, as it certainly won't make them wanna check on those notifications more than they used to and will most likely discourage them from using the software.

I've checked EVERYWHERE in the options and couldn't find any way of disabling either the notifications or the "beep" sound. I can't believe Vuze people are mad enough NOT to have planned a way for users to escape this annoyance. Could someone please be kind enough to tell me where to look?

Many thanks :)
This answer turns both the notifications and chimes off: The answer can be found http://wiki.vuze.com/w/Decentralized_Chat .  The answer is: Tools->Plugins->Friends (and Tools->Options->Plugins->Friends (to enable/disable the feature.))
