uninstall vuze and spigot

I recently downloaded Vuze, recommended, not custom. My Mac (OS 10) was so ridden with adware (ironically ads for programs to clean up malware) that I deleted Vuze. I've had trouble ever since with downloading other programs (Skype in particular) and Yahoo has been my default browser even though Google is clearly selected as my default browser. 

How do I rid my computer of all extensions, spyware, adware and malware that has been installed?

Hi Folks.
Today i received my yearly reminder from vuze that my 1yr vuze+ subscription will end in 30 days time therefore i should sign up for another year etc.
I love vuze for its simplicity however i have a problem. Price is now going to be £22.90p which for me is too much.  Secondly, i too was duped by vuze into installing their toolbar extentions and god only knows what other malware they hide in their software download - what i do know is that my homepage is no longer google, instead it is yahoo - thanks vuze!
The way they do it is the bit that really offends me - miss unticking ONE box in the download proccess and before you know it you are downloading all sorts of malware. This is sadly done by design by vuze therefore on principle i will NOT be signing up to another year with vuze+ -which incidently, would have been my 4th consecutive year)
As previously mentioned - i love vuze as a piece of software however i won't have dealings with a business that thinks so little of their loyal customers.

It is true that the boxes are easily missed, but the onus of responsibility is always on the end user to avoid any bloatware.  It is a matter of course for anyone who has experience with computers and downloading programs from the Internet to ALWAYS choose a "customized" install and then to carefully read through what you are downloading.  The option to "opt-out" is always present in the Vuze install.  Even knowing this, I have missed it a couple of times myself and end up having to uninstall and more carefully reinstalling.  Is it really such a travail to do so after making the mistake myself (not Vuze)?  I do not think so.  After all, while I am a Vuze Plus member, the basic program is free to download and use and they have to pay for their time and expenses in some way.  Is it really so bad that they include some additional software that generates some income?

Frankly, I wonder why people have such negative responses.  Does the program serve your purposes?  Is the Plus option something that adds value to your torrenting experience?  If not, your option is simply not to use it.  If so, no one is getting hurt by your decision not to continue your Plus subscription except yourself.

I have never run across an organization that is more responsive to suggestions and constructive criticism than Vuze.  I ask a simple question of you: Can you afford to work at your job for free?  It would seem that you apparently think that the many hours in development, updating, and moderating these forums should be offered for free.  Oddly, it is, they only ask that you carefully read what you are opting to download.

Find the additional software unwittingly installed in Programs and Features (Windows) in your control panel and delete them.  It is no different than any other program you want to delete.

A more comprehensive action would be to get an install logger like Revo Uninstaller or YourUninstaller.  Start the logging program before installing the Vuze download, log everything added to your system and then use the logger program to remove EVERYTHING that has been added.  Note that you should install Vuze exactly the way you did the first time to log anything you may have installed the first time.  After you do the logged uninstall, reinstall Vuze and carefully review the software you are downloading in a CUSTOMIZED install.

Even YOU LuvVuze have confirmed that you too have inadvertently downloaded that other stuff - and you LuvVuze being an experienced Vuzer too.
Seriously though, what chance has a fist timer got to avoid being duped ?
More people than not DO NOT READ all of the T&C's when signing up to contracts etc, Vuze know this, and vuze take advantage of this - fact.
Frankly, you are trying to defend the indefensible LuvVuze...

Hiding a couple of tiny opt out boxes at the end of umpteen paragraphs of small print is pretty unsavoury in my book!
If they (Vuze) are happy to use such tactics then that's their call I guess however for you LuvVuze to try to justify their underhanded tactics as a way for them to recoup monies spent doing blah blah blah is ridiculous.
As a vuze+ customer I am paying for the vuze software already! if that payment is not enough to offset their costs then vuze should increase prices.
That's the way reputable businesses operate.

Things start out as neutral and it is all about the spin we put on it.  If people wish to interpret Vuze's actions as being duped, so be it.  I just see it as a matter of people taking some personal responsibility for simply taking the time and reading more carefully.  Try giving an excuse to a bank or credit card that no one reads the TOS, see if it makes a difference for them in enforcing their TOS when someone screws up.
