torrent failed
#1
Every time I do a search and the torrent is from TPB, I get a torrent failed result. I see any number of downloads going on and I keep getting download failed messages? Am I doing something wrong?

Are you located in the UK?

There was a popular proxy which was allowing access to TPB and other public sites which was closed down in the past week or so.  If you are in the UK this would likely explain your problem.

There are a bunch of things which could be happening but on a public site like TPB they are all pretty unlikely.  So I will not waste my time typing them out or you time reading them LOL

The only thing I can think of is that your ISP is blocking TPB.  This could in theory stop you from accessing the site but since TPB uses peer exchange, DHT, etc those things can not be blocked .  . . but it is possible (in theory . . . I have never actually heard of this happening) that you are getting blocked from downloading/accessing TPB.  I have heard of this happening with private sites just never with public sites.  The whole magnet link thing was designed in part to make it nearly impossible for an ISP to block you from downloading .torrent files from a specific site.

Can you access TPB though your web browser?  Have you tried a differnt browser?  Have you tried a different computer?

Remember the vast majority of torrents you see on TPB are not hosted there.  Heck it might be that now . . . none of the torrents on TPB are acutally hosted with a TPB announce url.  I use TPB (and public trackers in general) so rarely .  . . I am far less than certain.  But I think when they went to magent links that the actual tracker for TPB was shut down . . . but again I am less than certain -- or was it that the plan was to shut down the tracker at TPB some time after they went to magnet links . . . crap I really can not remember.

My point here is that TPB might not even have a tracker anymore so just becuse you can seed torrents you downloaded from TPB it does not necessarily mean that you have unfettered access to the site.  That is where I would start investigating.  Let us know the results and we can go from there.
