my vpn is stopping me from downloading or going to new websites as soon as i turn it

I have a  problem when I turn my vpn on my internet connection slows to a crawl, till the new window I am trying to open says cannot reach this page.. but as soon as I turn my vpn off, I am able to easily open and go to multiple websites and click on links without the page dieing can you explain what is going on out of nowhere??? its stopping me from downloading

could well be that the vpn you use is not supportive of file sharing,or the ip address asigned to you is lacking in bandwidth, run a broadband speed check with your vpn turned on, i recommend Ookla

i was downloading for a long time with my vpn and no issues i think its a settings problem, i'll try the speedtest and get back 2 you
