max active torrents problem
#1
Hello!
Finally my ISP provider provided me with a public ip adress, so my PF was finally working. I've enabled UPnP, my seeding list sky rocketed, I was getting green smileys while downloading, everything seemed great, but it all clogged my internet connection, even when seeding only, so much so that surfing the web was nearly impossible. So I've read a lot of articles (vuze good settings amongst them) and I've set my settings accordingly (my upload speed 512 kbit/s). Surfing got better, but my torrents stopped working. Everything was queued. After some time some torrents started to seed, but my downloads wouldn't start. Their tracker status was ok, there was nothing wrong with the connection. But, if I've changed value of my max active torrents to unlimited everything worked just fine. (but again, i've couldn't surf the web).
So, bottom line, if my max active torrents is set to <10, downloads won't start, if >10 surfing the web becomes impossible.
I have around 500 torrent in my library, i use only invitation sites, so there is no problem with bad torrents, but downloads with other trackers won't start too.
A lot of seeded items have *1st priority seeding rank, if that matters.
My copied system settings:
Java 1.8.0_31
 Oracle Corporation
SWT v4508, win32
Windows 7 v6.1, x86
V5.5.0.0/4 az3

So, any idea what should I do? Thanks for the reply!

OK, so i left my max active torrents to unlimited, and adjusted max simultaneous outbound connection attempts to 4, max connections per torrent 40 and globally 80. Seems fine for now, but my seeding list shrunk quite a bit. Guess i'll just have to adjust that so that everything runs smoothly.
