help please - advert, freezing problem
#1
i keep getting a popup with the yellow error triangle showing at the top of the popup screen that freezes vuze. the error popup starts off as "http://n164adserv.com/ads?v=1&key=e64b6aae56d61a2fcc7cc88e15f" and just continues. there is no "x" to close out of the popup, and the bottom of the popup is below my screen. i can't move the popup up to see if there's anything at the bottom that would allow me to close it. i force vuze to quit and restart, and within a minute or two, the popup returns and freezes vuze again. i have uninstalled and reinstalled vuze, but the popup returns. once this happens, the only thing i can do is to force vuze to quit because the entire program is frozen. i have tried hitting the escape button when to popup appears, but it does not work, and i cannot seem to find any remedy to the problem. any assistance you can offer would be great. thanks!

I am having exactly the same problem. The link you suggested is a fix for windows and Vuze is running on my mac. The alert window opens automatically before I can do anything with at all on Vuze. I tried deleting and reinstalling to no effect.

The fix should work for Mac as well as Windows.

However, as you say, you can't run Vuze for long enough to disable it! A solution to this might be to go to use Finder to navigate to

/Users/<your user name>/Library/Application Support/Azureus/plugins/azpromo

and delete the file in there named

AdControl_2015.2.6.222549.jar

Then start Vuze and follow the instructions to disable the Promo View.

I'm having the same problem. Tried to locate the Azureus file in the Application support folder but it's not there...

Happening the same thing to me since yesterday. I tried to unistall it and install it again severall times also. It seems that if I disconect my internet connection the popup does not appear. However as soon as I connect it and click on a random thin on Vuze it suddenly reappers and the application just freezes, having me to force quit it. Tried to do as all of you told but I am also on a mac and couldn't find those locations and files to erase them. There's no Azureus folder inside Application Support. Please someone find a way to detect how we can fix this on a mac?

Hi, I have the same problem, the pop up blocks Vuze. But in my
/Library/Application Support/ there is no Azureus. Can it be stored anywhere  else? I just got the mac with Yosemite OS

Try deleting it from the Terminal.

There are certain files which do not show up in a search using the GUI of OS X.  I think the Application support folder is one of those but I can not remember for sure.  You will definately be able to find it in the Terminal.
