Vuze install contained an Adware infection...
#1
Recently re-installed Vuze...  After install my computer went nuts. I had at least 15 IE tabs opened without my consent, and an ad for some phony antivirus including an annoying audio advertisement appeared. I was able to close IE through the task manager, and then uninstalled Vuze. I ran a scan with Malwarebytes Home Premium that detected no threats. After uninstalling Vuze and restarting my PC the issue went away. I have used Vuze since it was called Azureus about a decade ago. This is the first time I have experienced a problem with the Vuze install. Has anyone else had a similar problem with the Vuze install? I would like to continue using Vuze, but I really don't trust their product after this incident.

I have had the same installation on my iMac for over a year. All of a sudden I get a popup with an audio warning that tells me my Windows installation (on my Mac) is infected and I need to call to get it removed.
The window even has the Vuze logo in it. It stops Vuze in its tracks and the only way to get rid of it is to force quit and then restart. It then runs for a while and then the window pops up again.
Really disappointed in a program I used to love.

I've had the same problem before and realized it was pilot error on my part.  I blindly checked yes on "Install this extra stuff?" style questions during the install, Bad Mistake!

I recently installed on Windows and Linux with no extra baggage by paying attention during the install and acceping nothing but Vuze.

That said, there should be a warning about such garbage before the install.  Shame on Vuze for adding bloatware to their install.
