Vuze and SlickVPN
#1
I have a SlickVPN account. I tell Vuze to bind to the VPN interface. Seems to do so because of the green connection at the bottom but nothing ever downloads. I have varying errors. Is there some specific settings I should be using? From the help page for VPN, it looks like I have it right.

If I turn off the VPN, it works instantly. VPN shows it's connected and all with no errors. With torrents, it will go a little further but always dies out.

I have never heard of that VPN before.  Are you sure they support torrenting using it?  Not all VPN's do!  I can not see anything which plainly states what is allowed and what is not . . . but their marketing blurbs lead me to believe it is intended for web-browsing and e-mail only.

You might want to ask that question!

This review would indicate it is supported: https://vpnreviewz.com/slickvpn-review/

What is the top rated most compatible with Vuze?

First off a review is not the official position of provider.  Again I would check with slickVPN to be certain.  The behavior you are describing is that of a VPN which does not allow torrenting.  It could be that it is set up incorrectly that is certainly a possibility.  I am just saying that before you spend a lot of time hammering out the details of getting the connection correct it would make sense to be 100% sure that SlickVPN allows torrenting.  Even better would be to know if they allow port-forwarding of your torrenting ports.  Those are among the first questions anyone should ask about a perspective VPN that you plan on using for torrenting.

As for what VPN are recommended here is best article I have ever read comparing VPN's:

https://torrentfreak.com/anonymous-vpn-s...15-150228/

I see upon closer inspection that article does mention slickVPN so it seems they do allow torrenting but I still stay it is best to check if that is still the case before trying to make sure you have all of the settings right -- after all that article was published about 5 months ago and who knows how long it was between when the author started his research and he got the article published so that information could be even older.

As far as compatibility with Vuze there really should be no difference between one provider and another.
