This is a Mac, El Capitan, 32Gb memory... worked great 5 minutes before the upgrade to 5.7.1.0

Any suggestions?

And now I will answer my own problem so that anyone else having this problem migth be able to recover.

It seems that this version of the app upgrade for the Macintosh behaves differently than those in the past.  To wit: this upgrade resets everything in the Info.plist part of the package back to default.  For instance the Virtual Memory that I edited years ago to be 16Gb is now set back to 256mb...

After putting the edits BACK into the Info.plist file to give Vuze access to 16Gb of memory, everything works just dandy. :-)

I hope this helps someone, I feel stupid.  I just got used to the upgrades not replacing Info.plist.  Even a 50 year old tech weenie with 40 years of computer experience can fall prey to complacency.

Happy Vuze-ing!
