VM Won't Start
#1
I downloaded the new Java 7.1 and it uninstalled the old version. After that Vuze wouldn't load so I tried to uninstall and reinstall. Then it wouldn't uninstall. I went into the prorams folder and deleted the vuze folder and performed a system cleanup with a program I have for that so the registry entries would be deleted.
I then tried to reinstall and I got an error message the VM was not starting so the program couldn't be installed. I'm firguring VM is Java Virtual Machine. I looked around to see if I could find a fix for that but nothing.
I am using Windows 7 and chrome browser. I have the install program on my computer already so I am not really using a browser to install it.

The most likely cause is that you have installed a 64 bit version of Java and a 32 bit version of Vuze (or vice-versa).

Open a command prompt and enter

> java -version

to see what version of Java you have. Then get the right Vuze

http://sourceforge.net/projects/azureus/...Vuze_5300/

installer32 or installer64

and make sure you run the right version of Vuze if you have two installed!

By default the 32 bit version would be in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Vuze

and the 64 bit in

C:\Program Files\Vuze

OK, I left work with the install program running and when I got home it had loaded and I finished the install. Strangely, When I opened Vuze, it had my RSS feed from Shows RSS and All the filters I installed all set up as if I never uninstalled it. Trouble is the RSS feed is empty. There are no shows in the pane to the right when I refresh the feed. I generated the feed again on Shows RSS and pasted it back in on the feed options tab of ScaneRSS. Still nothing. I can't recall if I needed to disable magnets or not but I recall if I had it wrong, it would try to download but had errors. I'm getting nothing like there are no shows in my feed. All this from updating Java. Unbelieveable.
Any help fixing this would be appreciated. Manually downloading shows now.

Uninstalling Vuze removes the program files (in C:\Program Files) leaves the per-user configuration data in %appdata%\Azureus - the program files are shared between users but the config data is per-user so this is the safest approach.

When you re-installed it picked up the existing config data, hence things still being setup.

As for your RSS feed issues, I have no idea what the cause could be - ScaneRSS isn't something I use. Perhaps there's an error log window you could check for errors?
