Uverse Gigapower problems

Just got Uverse gigapower today at 1gbps speed, my download speed are alot slower then what i at 18mbps speed. Can anybody help when on why I'm getting these speeds? Is there something I need to change in the Uverse router settings? Please help.

18 MegaBytes/sec is the advertised maximum speed of uverse gigapower from what I can see. I am not sure where you are seeing that you should be getting 1 gigabit/sec maybe the name gigapower is used to be intensionally deceptive -- I do not know but a quick google search says that max is 18 MByte/sec. So I would say there is no problem.
