Updated Search Templates
#1
Most of my search templates for Vuze are dodgy at best now. Where can I get UP TO DATE search templates? (2016) ?

I undertand KickAss is out. Or is there a template/mirror domain that still works?

Cheers all.

You refer to the official templates (those that comes with vuze) or third-party templates? As for third-party templates, I hope someone update some or create others.

You hope? The once handy templates on google sites
https://sites.google.com/site/vuzetempla...s-download
haven't been updated since 2013-14.

Torfeat's at http://torfeat.logicize.co/ , too often imbedded with ads, haven't been updated since 2014-15. MOST templates from either site don't work any longer. Vuze' built-in templates are fair to poor. Isn't it time Vuze modified their search engine to better resemble qBittorrent? That search feature is really quite good, but it lacks the search filters of Vuze. I've only begun looking at qBittorrent (qB) as a substitute for Vuze (which I've used FOR YEARS!). Vuze features are still better by a significant margin IMHO, but qB is FULLY open-source (Mr. Robot would be pleased) and comparatively lightweight. I just can't decide...yet.

Get it together Vuze! Get search fixed/updated and keep it up to date with the ever-changing torrent host sites out there in the order of, say, Torrent Freak's Top Ten Torrent Sites of <year goes here>. I'd really miss Vuze, but search is IMPORTANT, no?!!!

So imagine the Vuze not want to be involved in creating templates for websites that violate copyrights, that is the reason of the results of standard templates Vuze be "poor". I believe that if we do not rise to a third party, such as those that created the templates you mecionou, you can not expect much.

Thanks Havokdan.

I imagine that means that the built-in search feature I mentioned within qBittorrent is also never going to be a consideration with Vuze then. How sad. You can't get everything in a single client - they (the authors) aren't interested in the same end results.

Remember that the templates can be made by anyone, so that these sites you indicated were made by third parties.

Here the details to be to create a template for Vuze: https://wiki.vuze.com/w/FAQ_Meta_Search

And another thing, I am not mistaken, the qBittorrent templates is done by the community and maintained by it in the case of Vuze, the community made some templates but not expressed interest in keeping them updated or create others, i am not sure that the templates are made and maintained by creating the qbittorrent, they just incorporate it into account.

Why doesn't Vuze just allow templates from qBittorent to be imported?

Well, I'm not a programmer, but it seems to me that the scripts/templates of qbittorrent are made on "Python programming language", so much so that in Windows the program asks to install "PYthon" before search and vuze templates already seems to use simple web language (Json, regex and etc). Not if it would be possible, but I don't see someone do something so complex, if there is no will or create a template for Vuze.

I have same problem with templates and can't find torrents but have a workaround that seems to work - not sure its what you are after though.  I search for the torrent I am after in a browser or even the vuze browser then paste the url into the search bar then it downloads the torrent I am after.  Its a bit of a pfaff but saves me deleting the programme altogether since I can still get what I am looking for.
