Unable to save torrent name to one of my choice
#1
Hi

I am having problems saving a torrent in a format name I can understand and search easily.

Can you please tell me how I "save as..." when I open a new torrent file before downloading (utorrent does this very easily and qbittorrent can do this by right clicking the torrent file name).

Many thanks

If I understand your question, you can do the following:

Tools > Options > Files > When opening a torrent, show options dialog > Every Time > Use separate dialog per torrent.

To rename a torrent already in your library, right-click > Organize > Rename…

Thanks for replying.

I have a parent folder that I keep hundreds of downloaded torrent folders in,that are in a specific format e.g. Led Zeppelin - 01.02.1969. Typically the torrent file format would be LZ1969-02-01 so I want to change the name before I download it so I don't have to worry about renaming it once the download has completed. I don't think I'm asking too much?

I rename most of my torrents and as with yourself, many torrents are scatterred across different download locations.  The advice Flinxxx gave you should allow you to re-name as you wish.  That process will allow you re-name the torrent, and/or the save-path, and/or the file, and the torrent will behave and download as if no change had been made!
What more do you want?
