Stats disappear?
#1
I've always wondered why stats sometimes just vanish from the lower toolbar in Vuze, why is this? After a while them come back again but it's frustrating and odd that it's not been fixed.

To clarify I'm talking about the bar with the seed ratio, NAT status, down/up speed etc.

I added a screenshot.

Its not been fixed because no developer's ever managed to reproduce it!

Alright, use what we use, for instance:
Windows 7 Ult. SP1 64-bit with updates to date
Java 8 Update 25 (64-bit)
Azureus 5.4.0.0. (64-bit obviously)
If it's related to the GFX card, I have an HD5450 1GB and Catalyst 14.9 (14.301.1001).

Let it sit in the tray for some time, 15-20 min. Then from time to time bring it up. Out of the few tries, some might show the stats missing. Right now I just took this screen after letting AZ sit for 10 min:

If you need further settings or steps to try, I might try it in VMWare and see if I'll reproduce it.

My stats are:

Windows 7 64bit Professional (build 7601 SP1)

AMD Radeon R7 200 series
Intel HD graphics 4600
1tb hdd
Sandisk 240Gb SSD
Philips 190CW monitors
Intel i5-4690 Haswell Refresh 3.50ghz
8gb DDR-III ram

Java 8 Update 11
Azureus 5.4.0.0 (latest)

I will do some testing and then update this post.

UPDATE
Download and upload rate set to auto for both tests.

Classic window mode used.
English UK Language setting.
Window not in focus for any test (doing other stuff).

  1. 10mins window closed to tray = Toolbar empty, going to stats brings it back almost instantly. It then reads Yellow seed ratio, NAT OK, 2,711,021 users, IPs: 0 - 0/0/0  DL=537 B/s, UL=195.5 kB/s
  2. 10mins window minimized to taskbar = Toolbar normal
  3. 10mins window open with no user activity = Toolbar normal
  4. 10mins window open but restored down (occupying 800x600 space in monitor) = Toolbar normal
  5. 10mins with toolbar lowered below visible area in monitor but not minimized = Toolbar normal

It appears stats go missing only when minimizing to system tray.

Right, it's something to do with when things are restored from the tray - I think that if you resize Vuze after it happens the status bar comes back.

OK I just did a test but resizing the window had no effect. It just fixed itself after a set length of time I think.
I tried:
  1. Resize restored window using arrows on left / right of screen
  2. Maximize / restore window

Alright, it's not about resizing it. I took it out of system tray, it was already maximized, then minimized it to taskbar, restored it and the stats appeared.

I've played around for a while on various Windows 7 versions in and outside VMs and have never seen it. Do you have any plugins installed that have status bar icons/info?

Any chance you could deal with this bot / troll up here that keeps repeating everything I'm saying?

Anyway I don't have any plugins installed besides the stock ones. If you can't fix it then I suppose we'll just have to live with it.

I'm not a troll, dumbass.

I have the same issue, and probably others do too, so instead of making a new thread, common sense dictates to use an already open thread for the issue.

Plus, your skills are lacking. You can't corehently reproduce steps and you forget to add vital information.

To the issue:
The stats disappear only after a certain amount of time Azureus spends minimized to system tray.
The stats reappear when the window is minimized, not to system tray, but to task bar and then restored imediately after. Resizing the window (maximize and restore control buttons) doesn't have any effect on the stats bar.

New info:
On the stats bar, the only thing that doesn't disapper is a loading bar, almost every time it is half loaded. I just got this only after unticking automatic removal of inactive items of progress reports.

I've disabled mainline DHT plugin, which has and icon here, to no effect.

Connection Pairing has an icon, just that I've always kept it disabled, the icon was greyed out, now I've removed the icon as well. No change.

I've diabled any non az* plugins on startup, no change has occured.

Will continue to try settings involved in the stats, and post my finding here, wether some jerks think it's trolling or not!

AZ needs at least 10 seconds in system tray for the stats to disappear.

Disappeared starts, after a long period of AZ being minimized to tray, always appear after 30 seconds of keeping the window maximized / visible. (1)

I've also disabled all checked option in Interface > Display > Status area, with no change.

Changed update graphical bars every N GUI updates from 4 to 1, now (1) takes exactly 1 minute to reappear. Reverted and the time it took went back to 30 seconds.

Thanks for all the info - I'll try adding some logic to re-layout the status bar area when returning from minimized state, this will be in 5501_B02 later today

Not sure if you're in the beta program, if not take a look at http://wiki.vuze.com/w/Beta_Program
