Static IPs, Port Forwarding, Mess
#1
Frog
Good morning ladies and gents,

I have read many threads, none have specifically addressed and answered this issue.

In a nutshell, I understand the need for a static IP and forwarding a port and assigning TCP/UDP function to both. However, being in Brazil and not using a router that appears on portforwarding.com, I cannot seem to figure out how to assign a static IP to my computer without changing my WAN -- > LAN to a static. The menu screens aren't clear about what exactly you are doing in the router menu (though everything is in English if anyone accepts the challenge).

Therefore, it is impossible to follow anyone's instructions because the menu choices are different and unclear about what you are doing to the router. I am an American living in Brazil and using a Mac.

I understand there is a process called "binding" and the wording appears in the network test but I read it isn't the best idea usually. I don't really understand it so I didn't attempt to bind anything.

I assigned port 51007 for Vuze to use then tried every way possible to assign a static IP and forward that port but have had zero success So I set everything back to normal (except the port: 51007). I need a Vuze guru to help me figure this out. Any takers?

Info follows.

I could use a hand. I had used Vuze for ages until something happened and it stopped working. Have never been able to connect or fix it. This is my last, desperate attempt to stay with Vuze. Thanks for your attention.
