Proxy Connection Issues?
#1
For the last few weeks I’ve been having difficulty uploading torrents.

I open Vuze and it usually starts uploading and works for a while and then stops uploading. Most torrents show the following status: “Stopped: Scrape error: socks setup failed Unknown host proxy-nl.privateinternetaccess.com”

When I click the “Test SOCKS” button I get the following error “Proxy connect failed, An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host” or “Proxy connect failed, end of stream on socket read”

I had been using BTGuard as my proxy and had the same problems, so I switched to Private Internet Access to see if that fixed the problems with no success. I’m using the PIA proxy server only without the VPN.

Is there something wrong with my configuration? Is this a common problem?

Any suggestions?

I will do that, but since I was getting the same results with both BTGuard and PIA I thought maybe it is a Vuze issue.

I ended up resetting my Vuze settings and switching to the PIA VPN. Everything is working fine now, although, I'm not sure which change fixed it.
