Problems installing on Windows 10 machine
#1
I have used Vuze for years on Win7 machines with no problems.

I have recently got a Win 10 machine (Asus laptop) and have tried several times to install Vuze. It appears to install ok, but when I try to run it I get this error (attached). I have tried uninstalling, rebooting and re-installing three or four times but always the same problem.

Can someone help me?

(I managed to install Leap and it works fine, but I need the extra features of Vuze. Leap is way too basic for my needs)

Runs ok on Windows 10 for me :( YOu could try starting Vuze directly from the command line to see if that helps:

thanks for replying. I'll try that.

But is there no actual helpdesk/support for Vuze then? That error code must mean something to someone, surely?

I assumed that's what this forum was for

Not sure what you mean by 'actual helpdesk/support' - if you purchased Vuze Plus then there is separate support provided for that, otherwise this is it.

what I mean is, if Vuze doesn't work on a supported OS (Win10) on a brand new machine, surely someone ought to be able to help me fix that!

Use Windows 10 since its official release, always using the Vuze, never had problems.

Hmm.. ok.

I guess I'll just keep trying.

Apparently, this error is seen when running 32bit programs in a 64bit environment.

I tried updating Windows10 and DirectX to the latest versions, but I am still having the same problem. I also tried running azureus.exe in administrator mode. That doesn't work either.

Can anyone help?

Well, if you're trying to using Windows 10 64-bit, so you have two possibilities:

a) use the Vuze 32-Bits, in this case you have to install the 32-bit Java;
b) use the Vuze 64-Bits, in this case you have to install the 64-bit Java.

I use the second option, but have both javas installed, the 32 and 64-bit.

where do I find a 32bit vuse version? There is only one download on the vuze site. It doesn't give you a choice of bitness

thanks so much! I never thought of trying to install a 32bit version on windows 10 (which is a 64bit OS!)

I actually found a 32 bit version here http://www.filehorse.com/download-vuze-32/

And it works just great!
