Problem with Vuze 5.7.1.0 64bit installation
#1
Hello to everybody. This is my first post and also 1st problem I have with Vuze since years and years of use.
I have Win 7 64bit and I'm using Vuze 5.7.0.0 64bit and today it notified me that 5.7.1.0 is available and I automatically download it. As soon it is downloaded and I proceed to go to installation the error window come up with the following message "Vuze has stopped working, A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program". .... No additional explanation is provided. So I can not proceed with an update. I also unisntalled 5.7.0.0 version and removed the folder C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Azureus\
Tried a fresh offline instalation of 5.7.1.0 and instantly when I click on Vuze_5710_Installer64.exe this very same window pop ups -> "Vuze has stopped working....."

I uninstalled and installed the 5.7.1.0 32bit version and this one is going without a problem. I can also install 5.7.0.0 64 bit without a problem and it is working, but im not successful with 5.7.1.0 64 bit version.

Thanks for your help,
best, D.

Hello,
I enroled to Vuze Beta Program (you can do that through Vuze. Just go to Help and select Join Beta Program). Then Vuze downloaded  Azureus5711-B02-signed.jar and some other updates and now I'm using Azureus 5.7.1.1 beta.

I tried once more to install official Azureus 5.7.1.0 (64bit) and it is still crashing imidiately when I want to run the installation of the program. Event viewer gives the following information:

Faulting application name: Vuze_5710_Installer64.exe, version: 63.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x56cb5ed2
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.19135, time stamp: 0x56a1c9c5

Just to mention once again. I can do installation of Vuze 5700 (64bit) or Vuze 5710 (32bit) without a problem.

Solution:
I managed to install Vuze 5.7.1.0 (64bit) in Safe mode. So there might be some application which was blocking my installation in normal mode.
Running and working of 5.7.1.0 is without a problem.

Thanks for posting your updates on this - might help other users!

As you observe, there must be something strange going on with your system, perhaps an anti-virus program hooking into the process and causing the error? We've seen this before when Vuze is running but not to my knowledge at install time though :(

Hiya,
I took some time and I went from service to service in msconfig and I was able to actually identify a direct culprit which service is a cause for not being able to install Vuze 5.7.1.0 (64bit) on my PC. Cause is a Logitech Process monitor service. Please see the pic.

When this service is disabled, Vuze 5.7.1.0 (64bit) will start with the installation without a problem.

From the net for the reference on what is Logitech Process monitor?
Description
Part of the Logitech QuickCam software and used for the Video Effects options. Disabling this process has no affect on the webcam other than not being able to use the Video Effects feature.
File Location
c:\program files\common files\logitech\lvmvfm\LVPrcSrv.exe

So I disabled it in msconfig to evade any other future problems.
best, D.

Makes perfect sense that a piece of video editing software would get its fingers into every process and poke around at things.

NOT :)

Nice work!

Hi, I am having the exact same problem and was getting very interested in your solution because I also have a Logitech WebCam.

However, I don't seem to have the same services. I have one called "LVPrcS64", described as a "Process Monitor", which looks to be the equivalent, but when I try to stop it Windows 7 tells me that access is denied. I'm not sure why. I exited the Logitech WebCam program (which runs on startup) first.

Does anyone have any further pointers?

Still hoping someone will be able to provide further insight on this.

However, can I just say that the sarcastic "Makes perfect sense that a piece of video editing software would get its fingers into every process and poke around at things" is pretty uncalled for, and from a staff member no less.

Given that no previous version of Vuze has had this problem, it is clearly Vuze that has changed and has caused the conflict, not the video software that I've had for years.

Uh havent checked here for long sorry. Yes LVPrcS64 and LVPrcsS are the two processes which are main cause for this that Vuze does not install. You need to kill the process or either boot into safe mode and install Vuze. Today I wanted to update Vuze and had a same problem. Processes somehow were enabled I do not remember when I enabled them. When disabled I could install Vuze again.
Best regards.
