PLEASE HELP - Vuze suddenly stopped working. All Red Faces and Connection Error
#1
I have been using Vuze Plus for several months via ExpressVPN without any problems whatsoever. Then suddenly this week everything stopped downloading, with the  Tracker Status for every item showing either "Connection Error (No data received from tracker)" or "OK (DHT backup only".  There are now red faces for every item in the download queue, whereas until yesterday they were all green.

Can anyone plase advise why Vuze was working beautifully until yesterday, then suddenly stopped?  Nothing has changed on my end.  I read through previous postings where other people have expressed similar problems, however I haven't been able to see any solutions  Consequently I haven't taken any action to try to fix the issue.  Don't understand why Vuze would suddenly stop working.

I use Vuze only on a Mac Desktop, OS 10.8.5.  Latest Vuze 5.6.2.

I posted this thread on the Community Open Pages but no one has replied with any possible solutions, so thought I need to post in this forum regarding connecxtion and download problems.   I would appreciate any assistance anyone can offer, as I can't  understand why Vuze has suddenly stopped working.

Cheers..

I have upgraded just today to 5.7.0.0 and I found the torrents all with red and blue faces status, and connection error messages as well.
I am running OSx v 10.10.5 and Java 1.8 .
what to do?
Regards

Hi!

Same issue for me...
I can repeat the issue when i use VPN for Vuze or uTorrent
I have also tried on OS X and Windows 10

My guess is that the issue is connected to VPN and not Vuze since it works fine without the VPN connection. There was an article at TorrentFreak regarding a VPN security problem Security Issue
Most of the VPN providers patched this issue a week before the article was published with match with the dates i started to have the problems (same for you)

I have not find any solutions so far except going "online" (disconnect the VPN connection) from time to time

Lo and Behold - after several weeks of not being able to download anything, and trying every 2 days, Vuze suddenly started working again, as mysteriously as it suddenly stopped!  I did absolutely nothing on my end - it just started working again!   Strange.

I am a Vuze Pro user for over a year now and haven't had too many issues with it that I cannot fix myself and am usually used to making the adjustments in the options menu myself using the advanced user selection.

I have been using Vuze Plus for several months via HMA Pro (similar provider) without any problems whatsoever either until today. I have not used Vuze Pro for a few weeks but tonight it would not let me download anything and all of them stayed in the red.  I will attach a couple images to this post to show anybody that might be interested.  I'm hoping that there is an easy fix for this.

I also read an article with interest earlier this week about the problems with most of the popular VPN’s regarding them not being anonymous or that they will reveal your real IP address to the site you're accessing, which makes using such a service useless.  I will continue to search the forum for other answers but if someone knows of what I can do to get it to work, please let me know.

Also, just to note, I tried using it with the anonymous service and it would not work.  I uninstalled Vuze Pro several times tonight.  After I uninstalled it, I just tried to use it with my regular Internet service provider and it would not work at all and nothing changed.  I uninstalled it again and tried it again with the VPN service with no luck and it did the same thing, nothing changed.  I tried it a couple more times after that and just used my regular Internet service provider only and it is still not working, so that is when I decided that I had better seek help and search the forums was well.

Thanks in advance for any help.  It's greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

I am currently experiencing the same issue. I have been using vuze for years currently on version 5.6.2.0 and all my downloads are red when they used to be green and will not download. In the tracker status I get Error: Offline - Network not enabled for url. Everything has worked fine up until this point and I have not changed any settings. My ISP has remained the same. I updated VUZE to the current version but it acted in the same way so I reverted back to the version 5.6.2.0 in attempts to resolve my issue where it started.

I ran a network test and everything passed with a green ok until the very end when I got  No incoming connections received, likely NAT problems so i ran a NAT/firewall test and both incoming TCP and UDP passed with "ok"

really not sure what the issue would be and cant seem to get this working. any help would be greatly appreciated. I have read the wiki on download stuck and it did not assist me with this issue. Also i am not using a VPN currently.

I am currently running VUZE on a mac on the latest version of El Capitan 10.11.2 which is the only upgrade/change I made since then and Im not sure if vuze was working properly before the upgrade or not as it was a few weeks since I used it.

Sounds like you have the VPN enabled but you are not using VPN so the VPN kill switch is not allowing any connections.  But I am less than certain!

Ok I have been racking my brain trying to figure this issue out without any luck.

I have reverted my computer back to its last original state (through time machine) when I knew VUZE was working. I have never had a VPN and I have not changed any settings in VUZE or elsewhere that would cause this change. Even when I update VUZE to the current version the status remains the same which is:

I attempt to download a file and the face stays red and there is no download or upload and the tracker status continues to say Error: Offline - Network not enabled for url. every torrent I try does the same thing. Oddly enough, the update for VUZE downloads no problem.

Could my ISP be responsible for this? are they able to completely block torrent activity. Its the only thing I can think of.

GaryE thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I dont have a VPN and have not changed any setting which would trigger the VPN kill switch.

is this happening to anyone else? I continue to do the Network test, which passes all the way through until the end telling me there were no inbound connections received.

Thanks.

Are you using just one torrent site?  Or is this happening on more than one site?

It could be a prolonged outage!

I am testing several sites and they all do the same thing.

I have managed to solve the problem of my network test telling me that I have a "NAT problem". Turns out a setting under Connections>Encryption was selected. I deselected it and now the network test passess and my NAT test passes as well. However I still have the issue that any torrent I attempt to download still does not download. It gives me the red face and there is 0 downloading happening. When I look at the sources it still gives me the error. Not sure what is going on here and this happens for every thing I attempt to download.
