PIA, Vista and Vuze, little Connections (Seed, Peers)
#1
Hi, I'm new here... I have a dilemma wile DL anything with Vuze (5.6.2.0) and my VPN (PIA)....

I have PIA and my System is Vista 64 and Kaspersky AV...etc   Before got PIA all my Downloads reached almost max speed (when there's good amount of Seeds and Peers),  after installing PIA and connected via Open VPN Vista does slowdown my speed and after several email (PIA Tech Sup) we choose to use PIA differently. We add it as Network Connections- VPN- L2p. The Speed is fixed, however now every time I use Vuze my connection are  less than 10% of all Seed and Peers. I did DL VPN app and L2p app,  still it does help some and try to make sure I'm connected (Not always) with VPN but NOT helping with my connections, also last night after my DL was completed notice Vuze had a Red Alert stating; Vuze still connected to my Router without VPN [UPnP/HTTP Connected to your router], this is a  No, No...

DL Example; at present time I'm using Vuze and it say: Seed: 11 connected (56 swarm) swarm speed 1.10 MB's (Average) and Peers: 16 connected (315 swarm), my current DL speed is 350 Kb/s and Up L is 56 Kb/s but it is set as: DL= 13.91 MB/s and Up L= 6.15 MB/s  [ before VPN and connected, it does show better speed - I normally get 150% than "Average"]...

Another Example; Before "VPN" I normally get:  Seed 25+ (56 swarm) and 99 to 101 peers (315 swarm) with a 2.5 to 3.5 MB/s DL speed... How I can fix this ? ,  my connections should be the same as before (maybe: 10% less NOT 90% less)...  I have Fios so upload and DL isn't an issue. Also I did make sure my DL and Up Load speed are set correctly- did Auto (Vuze) and manually with no luck.

My DL is too slow and little connections for what it offered or it's available ( I had read and research lots of info and how to set it up correctly, understand I done it)... Why ?  What I'm doing wrong ? How I can configure or make sure it is configured correctly ?

PS: Also how I can make sure Vuze will not uses my Router without VPN ?

Need Help and guidance, please :(

Thank you so much for your help.

I'm connected to: 4 Seed (4 in Swarm) and 4 Peers (471 in Swarm) with a 10.6 Kb/s DL speed wile it should be "Unlimited"

I had used Vuze for my last 4-5 Yrs and never had this issue.

Please anyone I really need some help ?

I had a similar problem.  You need to enable Port Forwarding in PIA and connect with one of the PIA locations that use Port Forwarding  (eg; Toronto, Sweden).  There is a plugin for Vuze that handles the Port Forwarding setup automatically. Setup both Vuze and PIA to connect with UTP connections.  Verify you have the correct binding set in Vuze under Tools-Options-Connection-Advanced Network Connections and make sure the box is checked next to Enforce IP Bindings.

My system is x64 W7 Ultimate with PIA setup to connect with OpenVPN and FIOS with a Actiontec MI424WR rev I router.

One problem I am having since I started using PIA about 8 months ago, is I keep getting a BSOD after Vuze runs awhile with PIA.  I have not been able to get any answers to this problem.

Hope the above procedure works for you.
