Operating Vuze

I recently downloaded Vuze on my new computer. I have had the program before on a previous computer and used it extensively.  This time I can't seem to get the thing going. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but obviously it's something. I would really appreciate some help.

Assuming it is a good fresh download - How do you try to invoke it, and exactly what do you see when you have acted thus?
Are you trying to get stuff from the previous computer to continue downloading or uploading?
If you could define the problem a bit more specifically, I think it would be easier to help.
