Meta search gone, can't find torrents

So I am on my Mac and have been using Vuze for years. About 1 year ago I had to uninstall Vuze and install it again and then everything worked fine again. 
Now I’m having different problems, where when I search for a torrent (ex movie title) the circle search icon just keeps spinning and the biggest problem is that the meta search window never appears and the screen just stays white. After a bit a pop up window appears saying the request timed out! Also in the bottom right corner the upload and download speed (I believe it is) both says 0 Bs and I’m guessing this would be a big part of the problem also? 

HOWEVER if I find a torrent from another site (fx. movie download) it will download just fine in Vuze, but I can’t find the torrents in Vuze because the Meta search doesn’t work…

Is there anyone who can help me out and let me know how I can fix this problem and get the meta search back and the download back on track?I already tried to uninstall Vuze and install it back, twice and still nothing, so I’m at a loss here…

Please keep in mind that I am not a computer wiz and I frankly don’t understand too complicated computer language, so please be specific. 

I have attached a picture of the Vuze window so you can see the problems. I really hope someone in here can help me out!

This seems to be hitting more than just you and me.  Perhaps the next update will fix the problem.
