Local IP shows in Aureus config file
#1
Hi,

I'm new to using Vuze and am trying to figure out why my WAN IP provided my my Internet Provider shows up in my azureus.config file? I am using a VPN and I notice that there were several VPN IP addresses there which I expected but there was also one entry that showed my Iinternet Provider provided WAN IP address which I did not expect!

d11:ASN Detailsld2:as5:162653:bgp15:22.xxx.xxx.0/184:name33:LEASEWEB-NETWORK LeaseWeb B.V., Used2:as2:162653:bgp10:18.xxx.xxx.0/184:name01:AOL-NETWORK AOL Inc.,

It looks like VUZE writes a copy of the curent connections IP each time it starts and connects? Does this mean that at the time my IP provided WAN IP appeared that VUZE was connected to a Peer without going throught the VPN?

I have VUZE set up to only connect through the VPN and so I was surprised (shocked!) to see my IP provided WAN IP in the config file.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

V.W.

It is possible that this was recorded before you configured Vuze to bind to the VPN interface? Once configured though, all peer connections will be made through the VPN.

I guess it's possible, I deleted the config file and created a new one and it hasn't happened since. So maybe that's what happened. I will keep an eye on the config file to see it it happens again.

Thanks
