Leap Client Permanently Frozen
#1
I installed this on one laptop last week and it worked perfectly. Installed it on a similar one and it worked great for 2 days.

Now, it's just frozen whenever I open it. It remains on the "Find" startup screen, will not allow me to minimize or maximize, and will not allow me to select anything. I can't 'maximize' the window from my task bar. I have to end the process from Windows Task Manager to close it. It is definitely frozen.

I performed install again, hoping it would repair it, but it didn't work. While frozen, it did still complete one of my downloads. However, I can't view the "Downloads" screen to see how many downloads I have remianing.

Some technical info, if necessary:
  • OS is a fresh Windows 7 Home Premium install
  • I downloaded and opened the torrents directly from my Firefox browser, which is when the freeze happened.
  • I had about 20 torrents in Leap at the time of the freeze, though at least half were already completed and seeding.
  • All torrents were small, <1mb.
  • I was adding the torrents honestly very quickly, which might have been a factor. It froze at some point during my opening them.
  • Upload/download speeds in the bottom bar show '0 B/s', even though I had a download complete.
  • I did still receieve the pop-up taskbar notification when a download completed, which surprised me, as:
  • I can't exit Leap via my task tray as I normally would. It will not allow me to select the option to "Exit Vuze Leap" (no blue background to signify a hover), and that option menu hangs above all windows even after closing my task tray.

I'm going to just uninstall and reinstall and see what happens then. Just wanted to submit the bug/issue here in case others experience the same thing.

Thank you for the feedback and all the technical info! We will try to reproduce and fix this.

I have the same problem as described above I am using Windows 7 Home premium also (mine is the 64 bit version). It's a several years old install of windows that has worked, more or less, mostly correctly, a good portion of the time (glowing review for Microsoft).

My tray icon tells me I'm downloading. Most of the files I'm downloading are several hundred MB. I think I've got over 20 of them going.

If I kill the Vuze Leap processes I can start it up again sometimes or I get a partial redraw of the screen and it freezes.
