Invalid SOCKS cripples outbound communications, but everything's "OK"
#1
Options: Connection: Proxy: Peer Communications:
Checking all 3 boxes without filling the information silently crippled outbound communications while appearing to be green across the board. No NAT problem, torrents were turning green.
The thing is I don't remember fiddling with that setting.

The only clue that something was wrong was that all connections were remote ® and these messages appeared in the console.
{peer} Peer connection closed: failed to establish outgoing connection: Invalid port, connection to localhost/127.0.0.1:0 abandoned;

Java 1.8.0_25 Oracle Corporation
SWT v4233, win32
Windows 8 v6.2, amd64
V5.4.0.0/4 az2

ISP: Optimum Online, using mostly wifi with home router and sometimes wired connection.

I think presenting an alert to check socks settings when 100% of outbound connections fails to localhost would save people a lot of pain.
