IP Binding: VLC Streaming VPN VS Local Network
#1
Hello everyone,

I'm a long time user of Vuze, however a newbie on the forums.
I ran into a situation I'm trying to resolve in relation to IP-Binding.

When using the media server function without IP Binding, I get a local-host ip (127.0.0.1) when copying the stream URI/URL.
This is great when I want to stream movies to VLC as it's downloading.

Whenever I bind vuze to the TAP adapter (for OpenVPN connection) I don't get the 127.0.0.1 ip anymore.
Instead I am given the 10.X.X.X ip given by the VPN server.
When I try to play that URL (for movie streaming) in VLC it doesn't work...

What can I do to resolve this problem?

Does it work if you manually replace the 10.x address with 127.0.0.1 in the URL? If not, how about adding 127.0.0.1 to the list of bind addresses?

I solved it as follows:
Tools ==> options ==> plugins ==> media server
Then you must untick "Apply interface bindings from Vuze connection configuration"

Nope, tried all tricks possible with that 127 ip, the only way to solve this was by the solution I just provided.

hah, I was looking for that option you found when I suggested the other fix - couldn't see it for some reason. You think I'd know as it was me that added it a while back...
