As a fellow iMac user I read your post and I wanted to see if I could help, so I did a tiny bit of poking around. I almost never use the built-in video player functionality of Vuze so I really do not have much experience with it. I just tried using it and it seems to work fine for me. I am not sure what to tell you. I do not remember manually installing the player so I just do not know what to say. When I started reading your post I thought I would have to install it and I might be able to detect a problem for you -- but it was already installed.
The only thing I can suggest would be to try a complete re-install but that seems quite drastic. I would wait until one of the Vuze staff sees this and gives you some ideas before trying anything that drastic. Be patient they are busy folks it sometimes takes a day or two or three!
At the very least you might want to wait for someone to tell you which folder/configuration files to make a backup copy of before trying a reinstall so at least you would not loose any stats or whatever.
Also it will probably be helpful to know what version of Vuze you are using. Open Vuze (or switch to it) under the Vuze menu choose About Vuze and that will bring up a pop-up showing the version number.
It will also display the Java version you are using and some other stuff . . . give everyone that info . . . it can only help. On the off chance you do not know . . . just highlight all of that with your mouse . . . right click choose copy . . . then in a reply to this thread choose paste!
