I've been using Vuze with Torguard for quite some time now. Is there any way for Vuze to be set so that it will NOT download anything at all unless it is sent/received through that proxy?

Although SOCKS proxies and Vuze should work well to route traffic correctly you might find that a VPN is a better solution - with this you can bind all traffic to the VPN interface and Vuze is more aware of how things are routing: http://wiki.vuze.com/w/Proxies_And_VPNs

Totally what parg said. Tor is not recommend for torrenting by anyone who knows what they are talking about. Tor is horrible for torrenting. If you need security use a VPN!!!!
