Crash (within swt?)
#1
Ubuntu 14.04

About Box:
Java 1.8.0_20
 Oracle Corporation
SWT v4403, gtk
Linux v3.13.0-36-generic, amd64
V5.4.0.0/4 az3

Ubuntu says about the crash:
The crashed program seems to use third-party or local libraries:

/home/dxx/.swt/lib/linux/x86_64/libswt-gtk-4403.so
/home/dxx/.swt/lib/linux/x86_64/libswt-pi-gtk-4403.so
/home/dxx/.swt/lib/linux/x86_64/libswt-atk-gtk-4403.so
/home/dxx/.swt/lib/linux/x86_64/libswt-cairo-gtk-4403.so

It is highly recommended to check if the problem persists without those first.

Do you want to continue the report process anyway?

btw.: the vuze "get started" does not show anything (which may point to a problem for SWT?)

why do i have swt libraries in my home directory, does vuze really use this as ubuntu says?

The SWT graphics library that Vuze uses extracts the native libraries at runtime into that folder.

You could try downloading the most recent from

http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/down...x86_64.zip

Extract the 'swt.jar' from the zip and replace the one in the Vuze installation directory. Tell me if things improve!

You'll need to force GTK2 though as GTK3 borks the sidebar big time

To do this

export SWT_GTK3=0

before running Vuze

It is strange.
I am getting the "vuze->getting start" to work:
Replace the vuze/swt/swt32,jar and the vuze/swt/swt64.jar with the swt.jar
Do not replace the vuzw/swt.jar (if i do, the vuze->getting start does not work)
(using export SWT_GTK3=0)

Whatever i do, i can not "repair" the core dump. What i simple do is:
Start
Click with the mouse to the View (Menu bar) (all the others works!)
And crash.....

You need to replace the vuze/swt.jar - this is the one that is used.

However, if the crash is just in the 'getting started' page (or the 'vuze hd network' page, or search/subscription results) then you are having problems with the browser integration (an embeded webpage is used for these views) - this is generally an area of borkage on Linux :(

I think you misunderstood me.

1."getting started" is not really interesting for me)
2. Vuze crashs, with a hs_err_pid.log, if i click at the menu "view".
