Cannot find what I'm searching for
#1
Ok first, let me preface by saying that I am very familiar with how to search for downloadable content on Vuze and have been doing so for almost ten years now.  That being said, I'm by no means a tekkie and please respond like you would if your great grandfather were asking you this question as I have only the most vague idea of torrent sites and how they work.  All I know about this is that Vuze uses several different sources for the material.  In other words, if you teach me to push a button to get what I want, I become an expert button-pusher; it doesn't mean I know a damn thing about why pushing the button gets me what I want.  Same with Vuze.

Now, on to my problem.  As of about 12 hours ago, I could no longer find what I was searching for.  I also noticed that, during the search, kickasstorrents would always go gray, indicating to me that it was unavailable for searching.  KAT is where probably 99%+ of the stuff that I download comes from.  How do I fix this?  I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Vuze...no change.

Remember, please keep your answer as simple as possible, preferably with step-by-step directions if you have a suggestion.  Assume that I know nothing about how this program works because that's not far from the truth.

Thanks in advance

Something is wrong with Vuze. The search results have become unreliable. A torrent I see on piratebay does not appear when using Vuze meta search.

Templates created by third parties are the responsibility of these, Vuze does not come with templates for sites with pirated content, if you added a template on the web to such sites and they stopped working, you have to contact those who made such a template so that Correct or you can even try to correct or create a template yourself, in the vuze wiki you have to create one, but I tell you that it is not for beginners, it requires a certain knowledge of json / reges and other things.

Hi, I've bean searching for new or updated templates assuming the old ones are not working anymore since i can't find anything from metasearch but there seem to have no new templates. All i could find is following site where i believe i downloaded my previous templates but these haven't been updated since 2014.

Is there any solutions out there?

I have the same problem, no query results, but previously had been using it for years.  Hopefully the solution won't be long in coming, or difficult. The powerful integrated search was the primary reason I've been using Vuze.

Well, the following templates are the ones that come by default along with Vuze:

Are they working with you?

Now, if you are complaining about third-party templates that do not work, Vuze can only help if you can point out that the problem is in Vuze and not in the template, after all, these templates were created and should be maintained by the creator, I believe That Vuze does not want legal problems that can arise from creating and maintaining within the program, in an official way, something that infringes the copyright.

Up to about one week ago, I was able to search and download all the torrents I wanted.

This has suddenly become impossible and I have had to make a workaround by opening say Kickass Torrents, searching for what I want there and then hitting the 'magnet' button.

I'm not a tech but am very good at being a 'sheep' and following instructions so if anyone has a reply, please remember I don't speak 'tekkie'!

I've read quite a few comments and questions on this forum as well as on the web in general and think that others are experiencing something similar.

If I search for say the newest episode of The Last Kingdom, I come up empty. So I tried just punching in the season number (S02) which only brings up the episodes PRIOR to the latest one. When I look for the same episode on Kickass Torrents, there it is in all it's glory with a multitude of examples to choose from! So I hit the magnet button there and am shown the screen I've been used to seeing on Vuze which will allow me to continue with the download and then sit back and wait until it's finished. The download, by the way, comes into the Vuze app.

I use a Mac by the way so if there are people with solutions, please keep this in mind.

And nope - I've changed NOTHING in my preferences with Vuze since getting it up and running on my Mac a little over a year ago when I stepped away from Microsoft. Vuze has made changes (not sure I like them much but am willing to go along with them without a fuss) but I haven't.

Hi Jabatam, did you have any luck in getting a response? I posted this same problem over 2 weeks ago and never received a reply back from anyone from Vuze. My subscription for vuze plus is now due and think I'll have to dump it all together as it looks like it wont be the same again :-(
