Cannot Download Anything
#1
Hi guys

Starting a few days ago, I cannot download anything. First, clicking the magnet link doesn't work anymore. The pop-up window saying "Operation in progress" but nothing happens ever. This is what happens (attached)

Second, when I download a torrent file instead and open it in Vuze, nithing happens anymore. Tracker status just states: "Connection Error (No data received from tracker)".

I have deleted and reinstalled Vuze a few times already and I still get the same result.

Hoping for help. Thanks.

Welcome to Forums!

Have you checked your firewall permissions to see if Vuze (Azureus) is being allowed through?  Have you installed a program like PeerBlock that may be stopping your connections?  Have you upgraded your router lately?  Sometimes routers have their own firewalls and an exception must be generated within the router or you have to do some port forwarding.  Check Vuze forums and/or Wiki on how to do this.  Have you checked to see that the interface device (ethernet connector) is not being blocked, maybe through the routing function within Vuze?  Are you running a VPN?

Hi again, I tried connecting my laptop to a different wifi and suddenly, things went smoothly. So it is the wifi that was the concern. The thing is that wifi's speed is fast. Why couldn't it download torrents?

Maybe the P2P is blocked in this wifi network?

Maybe trying to use other P2P programs, if it is a public wifi, maybe put certain locks to users not suck all connection, leaving the rest of the users who just want to surf the web in slowness.

Again, it depends on your WiFi source.  What is your primary source, your home router?  What is the secondary source that is working?

Hi, my primary source (the one not working) is my home wifi. The secondary source was my phone's 3G / LTE connection (I used it as a personal hotspot just to compare versus the primary wifi)

Chances are you need to do some port forwarding in your home router.  You probably have a router based firewall that is stopping connections.

Or create an exception in the rouiter firewall.
