Hello. I noticed my Sony Bluray detected my Vuze on my MacPro. Does anyone know if it is possible to play movies downloaded from Vuze through my bluray or do I need the Apple iTv?

Thanks

I have a Sony TV/ Bluray set and have not tried streaming movies directly from interenet yet. I have save movies from Vuze to an external hard drive and they play through the Bluray/DVD player. I am trying to download 3D movies to play on my system but have not had any luck yet.

Hi,

If the blueray sees vuze, then it is probably seeing it via DLNA.

Under device playback, you can choose the files you want to make available to the device.

To make files available there, right click a file from your library and then transcode for device....select the blueray profile and after some converting the file will be available under video folder of the vuze icon on the player.

Hope that helps,

SG.

I have a Sony Bluray and it works fine with Vuze.

Just drag the videos you want into the Sony Bluray folder and they trancode them into vob files. Then on your Sony Player home screen they are listed under the Vuze icon.

One issue I have found with a one or two videos though is that the sound in the original file can get delayed in the vob file. Anyone know how to fix it, or tune the conversion anyway?

Other than that though 90% of movies work fine.

To get 3d movies, download the 3d movies in side by side format, then wehn streaming to your 3d tv, manually select the 3d input as side by side (most 3dtvs have this), and presto, 3d movies.

How quickly are you able to transcode the files? I have only added a few files so far but it's taking about 1 minute to transcode per minute of content-- i.e. an hour-long show takes an hour to convert from avi to vob. Is there any way to improve this? I have the Sony BluRay (S570 I think) and it's supposed to be able to play avi files, so it seems unnecessary to convert in the first place. I recently upgraded to a new HD, memory, and OS so I don't think it's my system that's slowing it down.

When I could just drop my avi files on a thumb drive and plug it into my blu-ray player, this streaming feature hardly seems worth using. I appreciate any advice!
