Seeding question

I am a huge newbie at vuze and have no idea what to do. Whenever I try to download a torrent, it just says I have 1 peers and 1 seed... or just 0 seeds and 1 peers. How exactly do you seed files??

Also when my file is in vuze it will not download and stays at 0.0%. Why won't it download anything?

How is it possible that in my Pirate Bay Index for a specific torrent I have uploaded 5 hours ago in Vuze it shows that there is 1 seeders but 4 hours ago I was shutting down my computer and until that time nothing from that torrent was uploaded to another user.
Vuze showed that 0 % was uploaded to nobody, how come ?
