Vuze deleting files...

Hello, I am using the RC of Windows 7 and Vuze 4.2.0.4 with classic UI. I moved my files to the torrents file structure to seed what I had and get the rest, clicked on force re-check and it sat there at 0% for around five minutes, I clicked stop thinking I had it wrong and all my files was deleted.
I wish I knew what caused that, was it Windows 7, using force re-check or what is stopping it? Could it possibly be the latest Java? I am using upgrade 16.

I still have some of the files on a external, I can try to reproduce it, is there some logging I will have to turn on or something?

It is possible to "trick" Az into thinking that it already checked for files existence. I did one time lost data that way. Instead of hashing files it was rewriting them with zeros (allocating). By the time I found out I lost data I already forgot the whole string of actions, so I couldn't reproduce the problem. But it's not easy. And certainly files wouldn't just get deleted.
Also, yes, stopping allocation of rechecking can sometimes lead to strange things. For example, stopping allocation of newly opened torrent always leads to "file not found" and requires full recheck to allocate missing files.

As mentioned its been very random with me and only since the last forced update but the weirdest part is that I can have the file downloaded and it could be seeding for a while i stop seeding then rename the file and click force recheck after it has been renamed and the file dissapears and goes back from being complete to being just added and this has happened even after I had downloaded the file hours ago and turned my computer off and and then back on

the start/stop/recheck logic is quite complex and also handles deleteing files that are set to delete. The cases in which files are supposed to be deleted are very restricted. The other case would be that the files get re-allocted, but that shouldn't happen when they already exist.
Anyway, we need step-by-step instructions how to reproduce the issue to fix it.

Step By Step
1 Download FIle by clicking link
2 FIle downloads starts to seed
3 Click stop to stop seeding
4 click force recheck to make sure download is correct
5 Rename FIle to what I want it to be
6 click force recheck it rechecks the file then the file goes from being fully downloaded to being just added and the completed file gets deleted
7 redownload file do click stop click force recheck and the file does not dissapear this time
Does not always happen is very random ( once or twice a week after I have downloaded something) has only started to happen since the last forced update vuze did about three weeks ago

How do you rename it?
Through Vuze's built-in rename functionality? Or through the OS file manager (Windows Explorer or Finder etc.)?
If you have been doing that with Vuze's functionality:
The rename functionality in Vuze was changed recently, so you might also test if you can reproduce the error with the newest beta version. You can download it from here: http://wiki.vuze.com/index.php/Azureus_CVS

I use vuses rename function as I said its very random but very consitent when it happens as when you try to reproduce it you cant as i said you can download five files at once and it does not happen the next time you download something it happens could it be a bug in the rename and recheck functions

Wow, something IS going on here... Today I started this one torrent. Chose 'do not download' for most files. DLed the rest. Decided to get the whole torrent (it was seeding at the time). Changed all files to 'normal'. Downloading started. Then I had to leave and shut down the computer (download was about 80% done). I have to note here that I am absolutely sure that shutdown process was correct. Also my system is pretty stable, memory is fine, etc.
I've just returned, fired up Az again. After a few minutes I've got weird notification about one piece corrupted and that it had to be re-downloaded (shouldn't it be silent with no notifications?). After that Az decided for itself that it would be good to recheck the whole torrent (as if the problem with corruption could be local?). Ok, never mind that. But before starting recheck one of the (larger) files got set to 'delete' by itself. Essentially Az deleted almost completely downloaded file. I'm absolutely positive that I didn't accidentally deleted it myself nor that I missed it when selecting all files for download (Downloaded amount also proves that).
This usage (DL some files, then the rest) is not unusual for me, never had any serious problems with it before.

Ok, that was weird and hardly reproducible.
Here's another one, easily repeatable:
Let's say you have completed torrent consisting of 1 file. Let's say you're sorting torrents to some folder structure. You create folder "Meaningful name". You then 'Move data files' to folder which contains this "Meaningful name" folder. Then the problematic part: you do 'rename save path'. One thing, the name of the operation is confusing. Really, in case of 1-file torrent, it's not only path, but also filename. But anyway. If at that point you do try to rename save path to "Meaningful name", Az tries to rename file to "Meaningful name", gets access error (as there's already a folder with that name present, although you can't see the error) and tadaaa: deletes the file. Then Az is totally confused, as it tries to access file "Meaningful name" and instead gets an error, as it's a folder and not a file.
Desired behavior: message-box saying that there's folder with that name already present and 2 options: Cancel rename or Move files to that folder.
Also, the issue of 'Rename save path' working really as 'rename file' in case of 1-file torrent should be addressed. Could menu item be context-sensitive?

I Think I have worked out what is happening in my case but dont know why the file gets deleted I think vuze is saying after I have renamed and rechecked the file that it is now not new and moves it from one screen to another but accidently deletes the file so then the file(torrent data file) gets put back in the download position but cant see how vuze is doing it as it started to happen again the other day but I had just started to move the file when it did it so had the full file downloaded allready when it moved it back to the redownload position it could not delete the file like it has been doing
