When i updated to the new vuze i was happy to see my tivo series 3 pop up in the devices list, however when i go to the 'now playing' menu on my tivo, nothing is there.

ive tried copying movies to the Tivo playlist in vuze, but nothing, i restarted the tivo box, nothing. i noticed a .vob file was created after vuze transcoded the file i dropped in the tivo list, am i meant to put that file on the tivo box through vuze??

thanks

no, nothing as yet. seems noone knows, theres so little information anywhere on the net about troubleshooting this its impossible to figure out how to fix it.

albiz2, what country are you in? i have a feeling that some non-USA models come with encryption on them that is blocking this kind of stuff, which is the only explanation i can figure

oh wait, i see youre in australia too. i think thats the problem, australian tivo's come with encryption that block this kind of connection by preventing the video files from showing up on the 'now playing' screen.

i have researched this awhile back when i first got my tivo, and i was trying to get an application called pyTivo to do the same thing vuze wants to do. i eventually figured out that it is possible to get it to work, but only after you have unlocked some key (i cant remember the exact name of the key) within the tivo. to unlock the key, you need to purchase the $150 home networking software that tivo sell.

so basically, i believe that the vuze-tivo connection will work for us, but only after shelling out the $150 to unlock the tivo. it seems that USA models do not have this encryption.

i was waiting to see if vuze fixed this problem but it appears it hasnt for us in australia with encrypted tivo models. so i guess i will be coughing up for the home network software after all.

i think they have done this in australia becasue we dont pay a monthly ongoing subscription for our tivo's like they do in the USA, and selling shit like the software gets them more money.

I have the same problem, and I am in the US, so I do not think your location matters. I've copied videos from my PC to Tivo before without problems, never from my Mac.

I had the same issues here too. I live in Australia and I couldn't see Vuze on my TiVo until I bought the home networking package. After that there were no issues.
