Vuze + Vista/Win7 64 = No Internet

I just updated my PC from XP to Windows 7 64 (clean install) and now every time I run Vuze it kills my wireless connection. I get "Limited Connection." On XP I had 30 active torrents, 10 active downloads, etc and everything was fine. However in Windows 7 I can't even have 1 torrent running without taking down my internet. How can the same machine have such a drastic change in performance? Anyone have an advice on how to fix this?
I also have this problem on another system running Vista 64 SP1 and was never able to fix it.
EDIT: Forgot to mention when Vuze starts everything is working fine, all green and 800kb/s+ speeds.
EDIT2: I also get an message about port not binding and asks if more then one copy of Vuze is running.
EDIT3: just tried utorrent and everything is working fine. something about Vuze and Windows Vista/7 don't agree. Seems like it might have to do with IPv6 and Teredo.

If you are not using IPv6 for anything (most of us are not), you might disable IPv6 in network settings in Windows.
It is too bad that Vuze does not have the option to prevent using IPv6, as it is currently unnecessary for most of us.
(I do have a IPv6 router, and Vuze works nicely with IPv6 in Vista if Java7 is used. IPv6 NIO is broken in Java 6.)

I disabled IPv6 on my wireless adapter, but is there further steps that can be taken? uTorrent works but I really rather be using Vuze.
Also when my PCs are connected via a wire I don't have a network issue, just a 10 meter cable snaking around my house. Shouldn't that have the same issue?
EDIT: Should I install Java 7 or won't that help?

Hi,
I have the same exact problem. Updated to win 7 x64 and Vuze seems to work fine but after a while it totally kills the connection.
When shutting down Vuze (when the connection is dead), it's still present in the task manager and won't shut down.
I haven't tried utorrent.
EDIT: I have a wired connection.

For all you with 64bit systems:
Vuze is not officially supported for 64bit usage, but might be in future.

That is completely disappointing. Java 7 64 doesn't help, nor do any of the files in that link.
Come on Vuze staff 64bit is common. You had the entire time Vista was out to figure this out. Most computer manufacturers don't even offer a new PC with a 32bit OS any more. Really.
For those who are having these problems uTorrent seems to work without fail. It is not as good as Vuze but if you simply plan to download torrents and seed, it works.

All you need is the 64-bit JAR and the provided 64-bit Azureus.exe for full 64-bit.. Hell, you don't even need the Azureus.exe for it to work. It's just a convienence thing.

I'd say otherwise ..but it's definitely getting there. Besides, Vuze doesn't have to do anything but have the x64 SWT and x64 Azureus.exe, which probably would require some re-jiggering in the installer (which they're apparently moving to something new anyway)
It's not 'official' because those items aren't included in a public installer yet.

Are you running any software firewalls?

Okay so I then I guess I have Vuze with 64bit support now, but that still doesn't solve the problem of the wireless going dead every few minutes. I have this problem on two different PCs all with 64bit systems, and all issues happen when running Vuze. There has to be some solution to this. I can't be the only one that has this problem.

zxcvbnm6000 - "Most computer manufacturers don't even offer a new PC with a 32bit OS any more"
I have been using 64 bit windows since XP, and been using 64 bit windows 7 for months now, first with the RC then finally with the RTM build. I also sell computers for a living. Fact is your statement is complete and utter bullshit. As far as consumer PC's go, less than 5% of all manufacturer builds worldwide come with a 64 bit copy of windows pre-installed by the manufacturer. Even with business machines, that figure still woudn't be any higher than 10% at the most, and those are still exxagerated percentages in my opinion, its more likely about 2-3% consumer and maybe 5-6% of business machines, notebooks or desktops. That may well change in the next couple of years as for the first time a consumer level user may actually start to need more than 2/3gb of RAM for reasonable performance, but its unlikely that the "MOST" pc manufacturers wont move the majority of their range to 64 bit until just before Windows 8 is launched, which is rumoured to be a 128 bit build, so there may be no 32 bit or 64 bit anymore after windows 7 anyway. Check global PC sales figures from any half assed reputable source you like, but your statement is complete and utter tripe, stop pretending like every man and his dog runs 64 bit when virtually no-one does yet still.

@ Mordd - I'm not trying to start a problem, just fix one. Which from numerous web searches and talking to friends with 64bit systems is a common one. But it seems nobody has an answer or one that works in more than 15% of the cases.
However my comment about PC manufacturing stands. Every major computer company, in North America (didn't check elsewhere), doesn't sell any system with 32bit. That has been the case for the last few years. So every new PC sold will have a 64bit system, and has a greater chance of having this problem I'm having occur. Seems like an issue that needs fixing.

I'm simply trying to point out that 64 bit windows is not commonplace so unfortunately official support for apps and hardware does lag behind and users like us are forced to bear with more errors than with the equivelant 32 bit version as a result often. Trying to pretend that 64 bit is the norm though in order to try and make a manufacturer of a torrent program provide support faster is just plain silly though, you're the one who went away from the core topic here, I simply pointed that out my friend.

After a lot of troubleshooting steps (none successful), it seems more like a Java issue than a Vuze issue. I have a Java downloader program that takes down the internet the same way. Anyone have any ideas on that?
