Downloading content encryption: How to hide downloading content from ISP?

My ISP is monitoring and tracking the content I'm downloading. Is there anyway to hide the information from them?

Not really without using a paid VPN service. The most you can do is enable Transport Encryption in the client, which only scrambles the BitTorrent headers.

Check under Options/Preferences -> Connection -> Transport Encryption

What you should also realise about Washii's advice is that none of what Vuze can do is designed to hide the content you are transfering. The purpose of the transport encryption was to stop ISPs unfairly throttling the BitTorrent protocol - nothing more.

:-) You've had to clarify so many of my posts, it's only fair to return the favour at least once ;-)

Thank you both of you.

Let me change the question then. Since I can't hide the content I'm downloading, can I hide my IP address?

Or is there anyway that I can keep using Bittorrent without having my ISPs blocking my modem again?

I did some research, and I found that Time Warner Cable starts to put torrent files on mininova and piratebay to track torrent user activity. I got that torrent file from mininova as well. I think it's convincing.

BitTorrent was never designed to hide what it was doing. The only way you can change the IP address it sends to the trackers is to use a proxy, vpn or something similar. Doing that though will likely either have a serious impact on performance or cost money. You would also need to check the terms and conditions of any service you use.

Hey guys
I tried to change my settings for the transpot encryption but it does not give me the option to do so. I go to option-> connection and their is no option for the encryption. Why would it not be their? I alredy tried putting my settings to intermediet and even advanced and still nothing. I also have the latest version of Vuse 4.0.0.4
Thanks

There should be an additional options subpage for transport encryption.

(Maybe you have to change your user "Mode" to Intermediate or Advanced first.)

Are you sure you are expanding all the 'Connection' options?

In the left pane displaying all the settings, there is a right-facing arrow to the left of every category where there are additional subpages. Make sure to click that, and it should show: Proxy Options, Advanced Network Settings and Transport Encryption.
