ok my file is done downloading but i still can use it because of this seeding thing? what is it? what does it do? do I need to let it happen? Can i just stop it?

Seeding is what keeps a torrent alive and healthy.
In bittorrent protocol, each recipient supplies pieces of the data (seeds/uploads) to newer recipients, that is how data is distributed.
Basically, you got the file because other users stayed to seed back.

You should keep your ratio at least at 1.0, meaning you have given back as much as you have taken.
See First Priority.

You could also look at Ignore Rules for further options regarding seeding.

You might also want to look at Good Settings for information on adjusting Azureus' settings to their optimal for your upload capability as the Queue options will help maintain a good Share Ratio and the other settings will help you get your best download speed.
Master: 800 - 9999 pts
Expert: 400 - 799 pts
Advanced: 200 - 399 pts
Intermediate: 100 - 199 pts
Beginner: 50 - 99 pts
Newbie: 0 - 49 pts
